Some sessions have perfect weather...and then some don't. This one fell into the second category, with rain on and off all afternoon. But even with the drizzle, a bit of mud, and soggy shoes, we made it work, and it was worth every minute.
We met at Queen's Gardens, a location we'd planned months in advance (this is where this family also had their wedding photos taken so it was extra sentimental to them). Their little boy absolutely stole the show with his huge smile and playful energy. His younger brother, just eight weeks old, was so calm and content the whole time, happy to go with the flow no matter what was happening around him.
It's always fun to watch the shift in energy that comes with photographing a family of four. There's a different kind of magic when a younger sibling joins the mix. The chaos grows, but so does the love. These are the moments I love capturing most. The imperfect, real, joy filled memories.
If you're thinking of booking a family session, don't let the weather hold you back. Sometimes the most meaningful photos come from the unexpected!
