There's something magical about photographing strangers. But there's something even more magical about photographing my own children.

This session wasn't perfectly planned or polished. In fact, it was the exact opposite. My two little ones were running around the garden with sticks, laughing, tapping each other, darting off in opposite directions. Basically doing everything but standing still for a photo. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

As a photographer, I know the most beautiful images aren't created when everyone's smiling at the camera. They're born in the middle of the chaos, in the giggles, the stolen glances, the messy hair caught in the wind. That's where the real story lives.

Somehow, between all the silliness & the sun filtering through the trees, we captured something timeless. The kind of image that makes you stop and feel. One of those very images was recently featured on the Unscripted Posing App for photographers. A little nod that means the world to me, because it's not just a pretty photo...it's a piece of my heart, my family, and my why.

This afternoon reminded me why I do what I do, to freeze the fleeting. To bottle up the chaos and joy so that years from now, I can look back and remember exactly who they were in this moment.

If you've ever thought, "My kids would never sit still for photos," I promise you, that's where the magic hides. And I'd love to show you.
